Gene's Biography

    Gene Brooks has practiced trial law in Savannah, Georgia since 1982. He is past-president of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and a past editor of the GTLA's journal, The Verdict.  He moved to Savannah after graduating from UNC's School of Law and starting  practice with a firm specializing in asbestos litigation.  With this background, Gene began to work on cases involving other occupational and toxic injuries.  He has continued to work in the field of occupational injury and also began to practice in the field of pharmaceutical products liability. 
      Gene tried a number of personal injury cases and became board certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy (NTBA) in 1994 and has sustained this board certification since that date.  The requirements for certification require recommendations from judges, recommendations from other lawyers, a required number or completed of trials and hearings, a writing sample and a written examination.   
    Gene's wife, Lynda grew up in Savannah and they enjoy boating in the local rivers and marshes.  They have been married since 1984 and have three children.
