I'm currently a 3rd year law student at Michigan State University College of Law. I will graduate in May of 2010, and plan on working for a law firm that represents injured citizens.
Prior to going to law school, I spent about ten years in the technology industry. During that time, I worked for companies like Microsoft, Sprint, and UBS Bank. I also did a lot of consulting for small businesses, especially law firms. After the "dotcom" crash, my skillset wasn't in great demand. I ended up working at a small plaintiffs' firm in Texas, and handled their tech needs. Because I was the most tech-savvy person in the office, they put me in charge of doing their online legal research. I became interested in the law, and over the course of a few years, I was transitioned into the role of a paralegal. I worked fulltime and went to school fulltime with the goal of becoming a lawyer.
I've blogged extensively about the importance of the civil justice system since 2003. At some point in time, I became friends with the wonderful group of people behind InjuryBoard, and when they offered me the opportunity to blog here, I jumped at the chance.
