About Patricia Cruz Fragoso

Patricia Cruz Fragoso has been practicing with Ventura, Ribeiro & Smith since 2012, where she currently concentrates in Personal Injury Civil Litigation. She is devoted to vigorously representing victims who are injured through the negligence of others and bringing their voices to be heard in our courts. Attorney Fragoso is admitted to practice in Connecticut State Courts as well as the U.S. District Courts, District of Connecticut. She received her undergraduate degree in teaching French and English Language and Literature from the Catholic University of Portugal in 2004. Attorney Fragoso graduated cum laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where she completed her law degree in two years, was senior editor of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School Law Review, and where she has been featured in their Alumni Success Stories.

 

Attorney Fragoso is a member of the American Association for Justice and serves on its Board of Governors. She is a Chairperson of the Davinci Robotic Surgery Litigation Group for the AAJ. Attorney Fragoso is a member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and serve on its Board of Governors as well as its Executive Committee. Attorney Fragoso is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association House of Delegates for District 4 and is a member of the CBA. She was a founding member of the Portuguese Bar Association of Connecticut and a standing member. Other professional memberships include the National Latino Trial Lawyers Association, the National Trial Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, and the Danbury Bar Association.

 

Attorney Fragoso has received the honor of being named one of the "Top 40 under 40" by the National Trial Lawyers Association. The National Trial Lawyers: Top 40 under 40 is by invitation only and is extended exclusively to those individuals who exemplify superior qualifications, trial results, and leadership as a young lawyer under the age of 40.

 

Attorney Fragoso has been consecutively nominated a "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers since 2012. Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Lawyers are asked to nominate the best attorneys who are 40 or under, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less. They are instructed to nominate lawyers they have personally observed in action whether as opposing counsel or co-counsel, or through other firsthand courtroom observation. The lawyers are ranked by point totals and those with the highest point totals are named to the Rising Stars list. No more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are named to the list.

 

Attorney Fragoso received the honoring of being named the 2013 recipient of the Danbury Bar Association Law Day "American Dream" award. A distinction which is given to a foreign born, now United States Citizen, who has contributed to the civic discourse and respect for the rules of law in the community and, in doing so, reached the American Dream.

 

Recently, Attorney Fragoso was bestowed the honor of being named a “New Leader in the Law for 2013” by the CT Law Tribune. Attorney Fragoso was selected from a pool of nearly 300 of the best and brightest attorneys who were nominated by their firms or colleagues within the Connecticut bar. The CT Law Tribune chose only 60 attorneys, all under age 40, to distinguish as New Leaders in the Law 2013 for their significant contributions to the legal profession.
