ROSALYN SIA BAKER-BARNES is a native Floridian who, before earning her law degree, served former Governor Lawton Chiles as an intern in the Executive Office of Communications. At Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley PA, her legal practice focuses primarily on pursuing justice for victims in personal injury, medical negligence, and wrongful death cases.
Mrs. Baker-Barnes is Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Young Lawyers Section of the Florida Justice Association, and serves on several committees of the F. Malcolm Cunningham, Sr. BarAssociation.
An active community leader, Mrs. Baker-Barnes is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Inlet Grove Community High School in Riviera Beach and is the Immediate Past President of the West Palm Beach Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. She is also an active member of the West Palm Beach Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
Mrs. Baker-Barnes earned her law degree from the Florida State University College of Law, where she was awarded the Virgil Hawkins Fellowship for academic achievement. She was a member of the Moot Court team, serving as Secretary and Vice President, and was a member of the Final Four Moot Court Team. She currently serves as a member of the Law Alumni Association's Board of Directors.
Born in Tampa and raised in West Palm Beach, Mrs. Baker-Barnes completed her undergraduate studies at Florida State University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication.
