Steve Smith

STEVE M. SMITH is a native of Southeast Texas, born in Port Arthur and later attending Texas A & M University. He received his Bachelor's of Business Administration Degree in Organizational Management in 1979. In 1980, Mr. Smith began his career with Allstate Insurance Company as a Claims Adjuster. His career at Allstate included positions of Property Claim Manager and Staff Claim Analyst and was a recipient of Allstate's Chairman's Award. He remained at Allstate Insurance Company until January of 1992, accepting a Paralegal position at Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley, P.A.

Mr. Smith works primarily with attorney F. Gregory Barnhart, investigating and evaluating cases involving medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, motor vehicle and aviation disasters, wrongful death, product liability, bad faith and insurance litigation. Mr. Smith is an Associate member of the Florida Justice Association. He has remained active in community service serving as a mentor in the Cities In Schools Project for at-risk students and was a Founding Board Member of Turtle Nest Village, which provides housing and training to disenfranchised foster children.
