I have represented individuals in injury claims since my graduation from law school in 1992. It has been the primary focus of my practice for the last 20 years. I was recently recognized by the Association of Trial Lawyers of America as one of the Top 100 trial attorneys in the state of Michigan and listed in Super Lawyers Magazine as one of Michigan's top attorneys.
I have been a longstanding member the Executive Board of the Michigan Association of Justice [MAJ] and I currently co-chair MAJs Publication Committee which works to help educate the finest trial attorneys in Michigan.
In 2003, I accepted an appointment through the Association of Trial Lawyers of America to sit as the State Chair for the Republican Trial Lawyer Caucus. Further, in that same year, I was nominated and elected to membership in The Fellows of the Michigan State Bar Foundation.
I serve on the Board of Directors for Brain Injury Association of Michigan, the Council of Advocates for the Great Lakes Children's Museum and the Advisory Board to National City Bank in Traverse City, Michigan. I am the past president of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and past Board Memeber of the Father Fred Foundation.
From 2000 to present, I have moderated MTLA's winter seminar which focused on litigation strategies and techniques. I have lectured frequently in areas of trial discovery, depositions, auto no-fault, and closed head injuries. In 2002, I was asked by the State Bar of Michigan to author an article on the state of hedonic damages in Michigan for their litigation section.
In 1998, I received the highest plaintiff's verdict in the history of Oscoda County, MI in a case involving an auto accident. I have tried cases throughout the State of Michigan and also California.
I live in Traverse City with my wife Shawn and our 3 children - Caroline, Molly and Luke.
