Tom's Biography

As a native of Alexander City, Alabama, Tom Goree was instilled with values and core beliefs that would serve to be essential in building his law practice. Having come from a family that believes in hard work, dedication, and perseverance, Mr. Goree uses these fundamental beliefs with every case and client he represents. Those same beliefs and values propelled him from an outstanding college career, through law school and eventually landing him where he is today.

Mr. Goree graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelors of Science in Business Management. During his college career at Georgia Tech, Mr. Goree was very active in his fraternity, Kappa Alpha Order, were he co–chaired many philanthropic organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and Greek Week. He also served on the Economic Planning Committee for SGA, the governing student body.
Immediately upon graduating from Georgia Tech, Mr. Goree began law school at Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama. The first summer after law school, Mr. Goree clerked for Judge Tom Young of the Tallapoosa Circuit Court. Little did he know this clerkship would prove to be invaluable, giving him real world experience observing trial lawyers in action, and taking note of how a trial attorney's skills and knowledge are crucial factors in representing a plaintiff's case.
Throughout the remainder of law school, Mr. Goree clerked full time at Farris, Riley & Pitt. While the combination of working full time as both a student and a clerk left little time for extracurricular activities, it taught him the vital requirements to be a trail attorney, and gave him actual experience working on cases.
Prior to completing law school, Mr. Goree had already assisted on many complex litigation cases including railroad litigation/FELA cases, 18–wheeler accidents, and Insurance Bad Faith cases. Now Mr. Goree focuses his practice on personal injury cases, automobile accidents, driver negligence and overtime claims. He represents clients from all over the State of Alabama but primarily represents clients from Jefferson Co. and the surrounding counties. He currently resides in Homewood with his wife Riley, and their Bulldogs Aubrey and Ace.
